In general, here’s what you can expect:
Before class: Arrive early so you arrive stress-free! Say “hi!” at our front desk and check yourself in at our self check-in. To prepare for class, simply find a space for your mat. You may lie down in savasana or sit as you wait for class to begin.
During class: If you’re not familiar with yoga poses, that’s ok! The instructor will give detailed directions to guide you through the postures. Listen to your body. If you feel like you need a break, sit down or lie down to take rest. Yoga is not about how flexible or strong you are. Instead, it is about cultivating mental awareness. Finding calm & stillness during times of challenge is the reason we practice.
After class: At the end of class, you may choose to linger in Savasana as long as you like, no rush here. Soak in the benefits of your practice.
We love questions from students, before, or after class are the ideal time for anything that arises! Don’t be shy, helping humans is why we do what we do.

Yoga is not about touching your toes — it’s about what you learn on your way down.
It’s a common misconception that you have to be flexible to practice yoga, in fact increased flexibility, strength, and mobility are things you will build with a yoga practice. But no, you do not need to have any of them to start!

Vinyasa is often used in the yoga world to refer to movement with breath, but it doesn’t specify fast, slow, beginner, or advanced. Think of "vinyasa" as a strategic and mindful way to place yourself during your yoga practice.
Our classes will always have options and modifications and while some may be more challenging than others, we are confident that our yoga practices can fit everyone who attends. We also encourage you not to be shy chatting with your teacher before and after class—it’s a really amazing way to learn, and one of our favourite things about being yoga teachers.

Rogue Vinyasa is not a “hot yoga” studio. We keep our practice space at a comfortable room temperature. For slower gentler style practices this allows you to layer and cozy up in ways that feel safe and nurturing to you. For quicker more vigorous practices this allows you a more authentic sweat and better access to your own strength.
Our studio’s goal in regulating the temperature within normal limits is being more accessible to all. It decreases the risks of heat-related illnesses for our students as well as decreases the risk of over stretching and injuring the tendons and ligaments. Those with heart conditions, problems with dehydration and those with skin conditions like eczema or rosacea will find it much easier to integrate regular temperature yoga into their life. -
Our space offers a gender neutral locker room with lockers available for use— please bring your own lock.
There are four private changing cubicles available to change in before and after class.
We have one individual shower space, and also one full bathroom with a second shower available within the studio.
In addition, there are two gendered restrooms available up the hall, within the building’s common space. Please feel free to use these additional bathrooms!
Our practice space is equipped with yoga props: bolsters, straps, blocks, balls, and weighted sandbags.
At our front desk, we offer a small selection of drinks and snacks for sale to power you throughout your day! and a selection of essential retail like yoga mats, towels, props, and Rogue Vinyasa merch.
-
Yoga mat: If you do not have your own yoga mat, a limited amount of mats are available to rent. With some available to purchase as well.
Water bottle: We do sell simple water bottles should you forget yours.
Anything else that supports your personal practice, e.g: towel, additional props

Wear whatever you are most comfortable moving in
Stretchy garments that are not too loose tend to be preferable for yoga
Most people practice bare foot, and there are a lot of reasons behind this, however footwear and socks are fine if they are clean for indoors
Please do not wear perfume, cologne, or other highly scented products
